Ayo Fayose Remanded In EFCC Custody

The former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose is being tried by the EFCC for money laundering conspiracy amongst other money related crimes. He was actually slammed with an 11 count charge. We remember him going to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission Headquaters in Abuja. Well he was detained and has not been released.  Fayose has pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

On Monday, the Fayose vs. EFCC case was brought before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun
of a Federal High court in Ikeja, Lagos.

The counsel for defence led by Kanu Agabi (SAN), prayed the court that Fayose be granted bail. The prosecusion led by Rotimi Oyedepo told the court that he would need more time to reply. He was granted enough time, so the hearing was adjourned till Wednesday.

The court has determined that Ayo Fayose remains in EFCC custody until he’s bailed. So Fayose will remain in EFCC custody at least until Wednesday this week when the case resumes in court.

Femi Fani-Kayode , former aviation minister was in court with Fayose  . And when he was asked about his reason for being in court, he said he came to support former governor Ayo Fayose, so that the man will know he’s not alone.

By the way, Nnamdi Kanu is back, and Femi Fani-Kayode has been in communication with him. Now we are sure that Nnamdi Kanu, the Pro-Biafra agitator is not dead. However, we can’t tell what he’ll do next. All we can tell you for now is that Fayose will remain in EFCC custody, until the court grants him bail or until he’s discharged and acquitted.
