Presidential Debate – Buhari and Atiku Square up for Major Show Down.

Various Nigerians and groups have been calling and wishing for an opportunity to here and interact with the presidential candidates as the general elections draw nearer. A Nigerian group has made that possible. The Nigerian Election Debate Group (NEDG), through its chairperson John Momoh has announced a date for the presidential elections. The date for the debate has been slated for January 19 2018.  Other presidential candidates will also be taking part in the elections. Also there will also be a separate debate for the running mates, this one will come first. It will be happening on the 4th of December 2018.

The venue for debates is the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja. The debates will be aired live on all BON partner stations. It will also be streamed live on the major social media platform.

According to the BON Chairman, John Momoh  “The Nigerian Election Debate Group would set the format and rules of the debate, handle moderation, outline the criteria for political party participation, ensure the objectivity of audiences and steer negotiations between broadcasters and the parties.”

“Nigerians expect the leaders of all political parties to be challenged in a very public and robust way in these debates. Not just one of them, but a series of them.

The debates will focus on some of the major problems we have as a nation, such as unemployment, power, healthcare, education and love amongst others.
